Reefer containers are large refrigerators utilized to transport temperature-controlled items like fish, meat, fruits, seafood vegetables, dairy, and even non-food items like pharmaceuticals and flowers.
Certain cargoes might need to be shipped chilled, frozen, or stored in controlled temperatures. Containers for reefers can keep the cargo at the temperature required throughout the transport.
The Reefer container is a bottom-air delivery system designed to circulate the cold air to the floors through a specific decking shape, which provides the same flow of air throughout the entire container, strong enough to guarantee a flawless circulation of the air with items.
Refrigerated units can keep or reduce the temperatures of the product even in the toughest conditions.
Reefer containers are also equipped to warm the items for shipments when required and have the ability to keep temperatures of up to 86F (30C) at times regardless of the temperature outside.
A crucial point to keep in mind is that a refrigerator unit should be noted that it is not intended to lower its temperature, but rather to ensure that the temperature of the cargo was pre-cooled.
The amount of airflow required for every product is different, and there isn’t one size that will work for all the movement of cargo in reefers.
